We all know and have come to believe that the consumption of green tea holds so many health benefits.
The Chinese culture is evidence of the fact. But should you be making the switch to decaf green tea. And more so to the point are there any differences in the strength, health benefits and price? We will cover these questions and more shortly.
Coffee in the first instance is a very addictive drug. If you were to give up caffeine you may suffer withdrawal symptoms similar to a smoker. You can suffer extensive headaches, nausea, insomnia and anxiety. That is just the tip of the iceberg!
Most teas, chocolate and soda drinks contain some amount of caffeine. Even if you do not drink coffee you may find that you consume other products that have caffeine in the list of ingredients. If you want to enjoy the health benefits of drinking tea you would be best to avoid this addictive drug by purchasing decaf green tea products.
You may not be aware but caffeine can cause drying in your skin. This in turn will lead to wrinkles and aging a lot quicker. It can cause heart palpitations, increased levels of stress not to mention full blown insomnia. No wonder so many people who want to enjoy similar health benefits of the Chinese culture are switching to decaf green tea.
Decaf green tea does come in many grades, varieties and with or without other ingredients such as lemon or ginger. As you know green tea is full of antioxidants and flavanols. For some tea drinkers the sole purpose of consumption is to reap the benefits of these two ingredients as they assist in the reduction of early aging.
Unfortunately to remove caffeine from green tea the strength of these two ingredients diminish. This is through the simple processing operation. You would have to drink more cups of tea to get the same benefits that you currently receive from regular green tea.
Like anything in life, moderation is the key. If you over indulge this behavior can or may have some drastic effect on your health. Whether you chose to drink decaf green tea or the regular kind make sure you consume a healthy amount. You can also purchase green tea capsules, green tea supplements and bottle chilled tea. In some cases these products may contain far less caffeine than standard green tea. This way you could still enjoy the benefits of green tea without the side effects or addiction of caffeine.
Prices will vary across the board for all green tea products. I have not found it to be more expensive for decaf green tea. The cost would probably have more to do with the grade and processing of the tea itself, where it came from and so forth. Check with your local tea specialist for more information.
